The role of the p53 gene in the development of papillary thyroid carcinoma and the new recognized therapeutic targets: A literature review

The thyroid gland is the largest endocrine in body. Among functions of this gland, we can mention secretion hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3), whose release occurs by control stimulating hormone (TSH). Furthermore, it involved calcium metabolism, through calcitonin. Thyroid cancer rare (about 1% all neoplasms), however most frequent among malignant neoplasms. Papillary carcinoma (PTC) accounts for more than 80% carcinomas. In study, bibliographic searches were carried out using descriptors “papillary carcinoma” “p53”; results elucidated role p53 gene development CPT.
